Workaround for MNG-1508 (process-test-classes phaseis missing)?

Hello everyone

Is there a workaround for this limitation => 
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1508 ??

We really need a solution now and cannot wait for the release of Maven 
2.0.5... Any solution is ok, even if it's just a temporary hack.
