They are quite distinct products, Ivy is really just a dependency management
and artifact publishing tool, whereas maven is a framework offering that and
much much more. I used Ivy before m2 came out for dependency management in
Csharp. It is very good at what it does, but is a fraction of whats offered
by maven.

Interesting, thanks for the link.

The only thing that is really helpful in Ivy when looking at this page is
the fact that you can choose between optional dependencies. I think Maven
could use such a concept too.
