Hi Vijay,
Did you add the following to your parent site.xml?
...
<skin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.skins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-default-skin</artifactId>
<version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
</skin>
<body>
<link/>
<menu/>
<menu ref="modules" /> <!-- this creates the link to submodules-->
</body>
...
Then in the children site.xml you can create a link to the parent with
${parentProject}
