You're probably right. I went this way because of the problems with Eclipse. I scripted it with Ant and put it as my main goal in a sub-project in a multi-project project. The main goal just creates a jar and copies it into the repository. Let me have another look at Eclipse and I'll see if I can do it more intuitively like you suggest.
