I've been told that I should just try earlier versions of maven and test! Of course!!

Performance problems When I bought my Apple MacBook Pro M1 machine with 10 cores (real, not threaded) and 64 GB memory, I was able to build one of my multimodule projects in around 4 seconds! The project had 4 modules at the time. I now build on Samsun external disk and it takes 29 seconds to build with 2 of the modules removed! So I first thought that it must be a difference in speed between external SSD and internal. "BlackMagic Disk Test" on Mac showed internal disk to be extremely must faster than external. Samsung: 791 apple internal: 4431. So I moved the code back to apples internal disk. That did however not make a difference!!! But I have earlier build same project with twice the amount of code in it at around 4 seconds on internal disk! The speed test shows it is still as fast as it was before. This makes me wonder if something has happened in maven that makes builds slower ? It is clearly not the disk speed that affects time it takes, so I can only assume Maven or Groovy! The latter is more complicated to verify, so I started with maven! This is not an accusation of any kind! Just wan't to se if I'm pretty much alone with this problem or not.
