Or you could get security to allow your MRM server access to central.

The "professional" versions of MRMs will often support higher security
requirements (think defense) so that you can only include "blessed"
jar into your MRM.
Blessing may mean licensing checks, code checks for vulnerabilties,
etc. Whatever is necessary.
