Some cvs clients support other protocols, such as
ntserver and extssh. Here's an example using CVS NT
and ntserver: 

scm|cvs|ntserver|[EMAIL PROTECTED]|e:\cvs|Deployment
Note the use of the vertical bar as delimiter as the
repository has a colon (:) in it.
