I have tried and it makes no difference. The problem appears to be MySQL
autocommit options.. Here is the mysql log:
100915 15:12:58    11 Connect   [email protected] on policyd
                   11 Query     set autocommit=0
                   11 Query     UPDATE policies SET Name = 'sdfg',
Priority = '123', Description = 'dfsg' WHERE ID = '5'

I have no idea why it is sending "set autocommit=0" though. It's not in
your code and it only appears to happen on this cluster. If I change the
code to send a COMMIT  after the update statement it works correctly..
