It wont help to releave the load on the NetApp filer. The NetApp filer will handle all the IO of the hosts (in the cluster(s)) anyway. If you want to share the load on your filer you need more of them :). If you have several aggregates in your filer (SAS 15K, SAS 10K , SATA, SATA/SSD) it will help to have volumes on those different aggregates to balance the (disk) IO. Gr.
