I am trying to compile HDF5 on Cygwin. I downloaded Cygwin produced openwin(40) binaries (3.1.5). I got a message the compiler(v ?) used to compile openwin was different than on my Cygwin box(gcc v 9.3.0).
I then tried to recompile openwin 4.0.3 and 3.3.6 on Cygwin. Both times, I get the messages as shown below. It might be simple to resolve this first issue by editing the code. Is there something simple that I am missing for a configuration option? Is there a recommended Cygwin build process? Should I try to use the original binaries by getting the same GNU comiper?
