I just wanted to address a question to the SGE users and/or developers on this list. As you may know, we have been developing PMIx for the last few years and have now integrated it into various RMs. This allows the RMs to directly launch application processes without going through mpirun and its proxy daemons. It also opens the door to a wide range of features that PMIx offers to schedulers and RMs via its various APIs.
Question: would it be of interest to integrate PMIx with SGE? If so, how should it be pursued? I don't know the status of SGE, so feel free to contact me directly if you prefer not to do so on-list.
