Is there a local system administrator that you can talk to about
this? It may be a lot easier to talk to someone face-to-face about
this stuff rather than talking to a bunch of people that you don't
know on a mailing list, and none of us are familiar with your local
environment, what tools are available to you, etc.
I ask because running with a debugger is a fairly basic item that
might best be explained by someone who is familiar with your local
setup, tools, environment, etc. (i.e., these kinds of things can vary
widely between different sites). If you have no local system
administrator to talk to, can you send all the information listed here:
