Side note I got the Absoft compilers to work using "./configure F77=f95 FC=f95" (not sure exactly which versions of Open MPI as I have been using several versions). Absoft version 8 compilers are incompatible with GCC 4.0, you have to switch back to GCC 3.3 using gcc_select.
