Actually, that reminds me.  Years ago, on another mailing list, there
was a request for PCBs for a specific drive, to try and resurrect data
from a dead drive (presuming that the electronics was the failure
point).  So, if a board can be unscrewed and unplugged, it may be useful
to someone, later on.

Hmm, this intrigues me.  Do tell.

I seem to recall reading about some spy agencies getting stuff in to
bypass personal security, if that's what you mean.
