AFAIK that's basically what youtube-dl does. It's just a Python script
that scrapes the YT web page.

The problem isn't with the script, it's with you being in the wrong
country. The way round it is to be in a different country, e.g. by using
a VPN. A number of such services are available, usually for a cost.
