What do you say, Mister Moskowitz, would it be helpful to provide to us info as to whether "rtl8192ce-reload.service" helps in your case.

Funny you should ask....

Last night my wifi stopped working, and in the rush of the evening, I just plugged in the ethernet to get me through the night.

I was JUST getting ready to look for your instructions on reloading things to see if I could get it going again!

OK. I restarted the service and waited a bit. No change. BTW, no SSIDs were list.

So I turned off the radio and turned it back on (using the function key), and then scanning found the network and tried to associate. This failed. My SSID (along with a few others) were still listed.

I waited a while longer, and nothing seemed be happening. The last time I had this, it kept trying to connect with no success. This time nothing. So I restarted the service. All SSIDs of course disappeared from the list and after a time reappeared as I would expect. But no attempt to connect to my SSID. I clicked on my SSID and it tried and failed. Now it is trying again and it failed....

BTW, I rebooted since I enabled this service, but I have not suspended. That will be this afternoon in preparation for turning everything off for the sabbath.
