Is there an easy way to generate a data file with coordinates from an svg file?
i.e, convert it to a data file with (x,y) coordinates and plot the resulting
dat file with gnuplot?

For instance the file

http://www.clker.com/cliparts/o/c/U/T/o/T/alligator.svg

which is public domain clipart, convert it to data file and then use gnuplot to
plot it?
If it is very hard to do with free tools or scripts, then I will have to use
the graphic as is and try to learn a bit of how svg works and then convert that
to other formats with imagemagick or other tools.

Best Regards,

Antonio
