I updated the BIOS on an acer EFI laptop. Now there's no grub boot menu,

How do I reinstall grub ?

Maybe you just need to change the boot order?

If not, the next steps vary depending on how you installed. UEFI
mode or
BIOS mode?

This is a common problem from what I have read if you are using Secure
Boot. Mainly with HP laptops.

Not sure how to fix it but I have seen it on searches from the net.

Maybe one of these will help.

Thanks for all the references. I saved them.

But for me it was easier: F2 on boot got to the the UEFI bios. Set boot order to the HDD. Rebooted and there was grub.

Thanks,
