Probably, their system is crap, with nothing you can do about it.  It
seems to be par for the course with those things.

You laptop does have antennas, but they're probably something
unremarkable buried inside the lid.  There is a chance that the network
card is accessible from the bottom of the laptop, and has a standard
fitting, that might allow you to dangle a better antenna lead through
the chassis.  Messy, but doable, if you had the need to continuously
deal with problem WiFi.  Though, you'd probably get stared at for being
a suspicious hacker person, or even dobbed in.
