I'm following along this far, but got lost when you started the gettys. Systemd would typically handle switching and starting gettys on switch. Are you starting them by attempting to switch in turn, and the process starts but the display doesn't change? If you're starting them another way, how and why? If you're doing it manually, it could be interfering with what systemd is trying to do. It would be interesting to see what the journal says when you attempt to switch. --Pete
