It is very, very odd that this directory is owned by root. I would like to see
what you get for.....

NOTE, use 1000 for your user id.

[egreshko@f20f 1029]$ cd /run/user

[egreshko@f20f user]$ ll
total 0
drwx------. 3 root root 60 Feb 26 12:01 0
drwx------. 9 egreshko egreshko 220 Feb 27 21:33 1029

[egreshko@f20f user]$ cd 1029/
[egreshko@f20f 1029]$ ll
total 0
drwx------. 2 egreshko egreshko 60 Feb 27 21:32 dconf
drwx------. 5 egreshko egreshko 100 Feb 27 19:32 gnome-shell
drwx------. 2 egreshko egreshko 40 Feb 26 12:35 gvfs
drwx------. 2 egreshko egreshko 40 Feb 27 08:25 gvfs-burn
drwx------. 2 egreshko egreshko 80 Feb 27 21:32 pulse
drwxr-xr-x. 2 egreshko egreshko 60 Feb 26 12:35 systemd
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root     root      17 Feb 26 12:35 X11-display ->
/tmp/.X11-unix/X0

Also, I wouldn't worry about the firewall until this is resolved. And, I
wouldn't worry about the firewall as I would concentrate on using VNC over SSH
Tunnel. As we've established there is a firewall between the client and server
that you don't control.
