I have it installed, but AFAICT it doesn't do anything, nor is there a GUI to config it.
I've installed xscreensaver because I enjoy a few minutes of eye candy before the monitor is turned off. Please do not reply telling me you don't use gnome and I'm at fault or in some way deficient for using it.
