They use the term "blank" in GNOME Control Center but it actually means
to power down the screen.  And there's no "unblanked screen" since, when
it is locked, there's a "lock screen" (like a curtain that shows the
date & time on the middle).   And yes, there's a fade-to-black effect
when it's about to go "blank" where you can stop it.

In a nutshell, instead of:

x minutes to lock screen, then
y seconds/minutes LATER to power the screen down

We have:

x minutes to power the screen down
y seconds/minutes later to lock the screen

Weird isn't it?
