I'm happy with the way Fedora 20 is behaving now. I see no need to clutter the 
installer or g-i-s with such questions. If something is really important, the 
system should put up a banner or alert.

It does. Email was the only notification option 20 years ago. We have other 
options today.

If they're important, they should go in the journal.
