This probably isn't directly related to gnome becoming unresponsive, but it's a 
problem. The non-encrypted ext4 file system has some problems and should be 
unmounted and fsck'd.

This next entry is fully four minutes later, nothing else is logged. Was there 
a hang for four minutes? There are more instances like this in what you 
provided with 6-13 minute gaps in the log.

OK that's a problem.  You'll need to find out what

Too many results for me to read, a few are BZ bugs, let alone see if there's a 
resolution to this problem but segfaults aren't good.
