That's an unhelpful error message. Unfortunately, there are several places in the graphical package tools where real "details" are not shown. Does a manual "yum update" work? > /var/log/messages shows nothing of note. > /var/log/boot.log has one error: [FAILED] Failed to start Wait for > Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit.
