and I gotta admit my grasp of how all those pieces interconnect is
pretty weak.

While it might be nice to know what the system is lacking that 7.1.1.1888-0
wants, I'm not sure it's worth dragging you or other people into a big
fishing expedition, unless you feel compelled to find out. I'd be glad
to assist, should that be the case.
