My version doesn't have that. Checking with alacarte, the command used is simply /usr/bin/yumex and when I run it, the first thing that happens after the window opens is that beesu pops up asking for the root password. Have you tried invoking yumex that way, and if so, what happens? (You may have said before, but I don't remember and it's always best to double-check these things.)
