Most common scanners should work fine....Nothing is flawless. I use an HP
snapscan and it does the job. You didn't mention what you want to do. I
haven't tried anything more complicated than scanning an image so I can't
comment on OCR/slides/multiple pages...etc. But a good rule of thumb for
something like that if you want well developed drivers is to use something
a little dated. Check HCLs on Sane/GIMP/CUPS(whatever you plan on using)
find the most common one for the feature you're looking for.
