I was wondering about that too and did some searching. Apparently the
official name for it is "screen shield", and unfortunately there doesn't
seem to be a config setting for getting rid of it. See the comments at

Actually, I did more digging, and found it:

In settings, under "Power", there's a "Blank Screen" setting. Set it to "Never".

How… obvious.
