Hi,
Normally, Recoll should properly separate the attachment. What you are
seeing looks like a bug in Recoll email handling. Being the Recoll
developer, I'd be quite interested to have a look at the issue

Management of all existing types of attachments works in Xfce, KDE and
GNOME.
