If it's no too much trouble, is there also a way I can make the
yellow arrow bigger?
I sent you this link a week ago.

       http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Big+Arrow?content=155650
So you did, and I thanked you; twice, in fact; but apparently the
Diagonal Screen of Death (DSoD) hit me both times before I hit send. I
don't see either of those posts here either, alas!

I did download several items from the mouse themes page, and have
been scratching my head since. I do know to untar tarballs with -xvzf,
but there appears to be some recondite principle, which I never did get
my head around, having to do with where the tarball should be when it's
untarred.

    I assume you're using Gnome :

     *INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:*
     - Locate the file "155650-BigaT.tar.gz" downloaded. It's probably
     in your Downloads folder.

-Right click on it and left click on "extract here". You will see
the folder "BigaThemes". This include four themes: bBiga, fBiga,
gBiga and yBiga, which are the themes to
     install:*b*=black,*f*=fuchsia,*g*=green and*y*=yellow.

Move each theme folder to /usr/share/icons. Open a terminal and
you can use the following command line, changing*b*in*b*Biga
     by*f*,*g*or*y*
     **

     *Quote:*
     /sudo mv Downloads/BigaThemes/*b*Biga /usr/share/icons/

Now choose a theme, by example*b*Biga, writing the next command
     line in a terminal window

     *Quote:*
     /sudo ln -fs
     /usr/share/icons/*b*Biga/cursor.theme/etc/alternatives/x-cursor-theme/

Finally, select the cursor theme with MyUnity, gnome-tweak-tool or
     ubuntu-tweak.
Restart, and you will see the pointer working for you.
