Perhaps it's a one-way street. I've done this many times. It's
possible that I originally created my first TBird install in Linux,
and copied that profile over to my Windows box, thus preserving the
Linux case usage. That would explain the fact that copying back from
Windows to Linux works for me - it's the only thing that comes to mind
to explain our different experiences - as I've said a couple of times
in this thread, I've done this many times and it has always worked for
me.
It is possible things were done differently. My specific situation was
that if folders were created in Tbird under linux in the shared mail
folder then they were accessible in Tbird under both environments, but
if the folders were created in Tbird under windows in the shared mail
folder, Tbird under linux listed the folders in its folder list, but
when you clicked on them to display the contents Tbird complained it
couldn't find them
Sounds like you've confirmed my theory...Windows doesn't care about case much
of the time, but Linux usually does
to make it clear - windows is and was always COMPLETLY case-insensitive
while unix (except MacOSX seen on many setups) was and is not
Exactly, and this was why I was providing my original warning that simply copying Tbird profiles form Windows to Linux was not necessarily going to work asis.

Steve
