This might have made since in 1999 when Linux was first getting started and every byte mattered. However, today, with terabyte storage and 8GB of RAM for less than $100 USD (each) this makes no sense at all. You're just wasting your time. Not having modules or compiling in modules provides zero performance benefit. Just FYI.
