Might that is not the case here but I have the same motherboard and F16 (and other distro with newer kernel) runs only with kernel parameter processor.nocst=1 otherwise I got crash at initial ramdisk loading. I do not really know why but that extra parameter helps. F17 runs fine here without that parameter.
