we made the chnage to ext4 in the year 2009 on all datadrives
in production for all sort of services and converted sysroot's
tp ext4 as soon Fedora switched to dracut (somewhere in 2010)

in my opinion there is no argumentation these days for using
ext3 - on large disks the much faster fsck after a crash
will be enough to consider ext4
