old laptop, please, and with a specific chipset for graphics, for sound,
for this and that...

Buying a second hand old laptop has its problems, too.  Like useless
worn out batteries.

That said, I've had reasonable luck, in the past, putting Linux onto a
new laptop.  But I had to do a lot of hunting around to find models that
could be used.
