F14 was EOLed around 6 months ago, meaning it no longer receives updates, even for serious problems (and your chances of getting answers on this list drop off quickly). You should upgrade to at least F16 (F15 will be EOLed soon). This means moving to Gnome 3 or a different desktop.
If for some reason you can't or won't upgrade, you might check over at the fedoraforum as they have a board set aside for older versions of Fedora and somebody there might be able to help.
