# setserial -g /dev/ttyS0
/dev/ttyS0, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4

Unfortunately that describes the hardware, but not which port has the modem connected (assuming a plug-in serial connection). I assume ttyS0 is COM1, always was in the past.
