I like to mount /tmp as tmpfs.


grep /tmp /etc/fstab
tmpfs                             /tmp                    tmpfs
defaults        0 0


Then a reboot gets you a clean /tmp.

Also look at

yum install tmpwatch

man tmpwatch

Also look at systemd-tmpfiles

man systemd-tmpfiles
