I have verified that upon installing kernel-2.6.42.6-3.fc15.x86_64 from updates-testing, and then installing the patch in Step 1 of the URL above, and recompiling the modules, everything works. Just follow the steps at the URL and you should be good to go. I _did_ bother to first see if the 2.6.42.6-3 kernel would allow the unpatched vmware modules to compile and it failed.
