I can confirm that after further testing. Just tested cp with larger
files (around 15 MB) in F16 (not working) and Mac OS X (Snow Leopard,
working). Rsync also works in OS X. So it seems that indeed davfs2 is
the problem. Does anybody know an alternative?

Two years ago I would have said: Why not switching to Mac and using VMs
for development. But now as I see OS X more and more developing towards
a closed system (and getting more and more windows-like bugs) I've
decided to switch (back) to linux. If it wasn't all these little nasty
problems to deal with ...
