Yep. If anything at all is started during your
ssh session that tries to hang around, the ssh daemon
will figure you didn't really want to exit till
the thing you started goes away.

Since every app in the universe these days seems
to have been written by people who think that
communicating with a separate process is way
cooler than just calling a subroutine, it is
almost impossible to do anything that won't make
your ssh sessions hang.
