Gnome developers have a vision of a desktop environment which they share
on a current, slick website <http://www.gnome.org/> and they operate
mail lists where you can ask about their implementation details or even
philosophy of UI if you are truly interested.

As I said, your incessant whining on the topic is equally offensive as
Linda's off-topic meanderings.
