Hello everyone,

i solved the problem, the pg_hba.conf file was different. this is the
working version, as found in debian, mac and the fedora 14 version
where modified by a tool and only by this reason it worked. basically
all i have on pg_hba.conf now is:

[root@gau ~]# cat /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_hba.conf
local all all trust
host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5
[root@gau ~]#

this works correctly on command line and java application can connect too.

however any suggestion about security is welcome.
