I would suggest using the Google repository so you get updates. If
you're not running x86_64 then all you need is to create a file as
root, "/etc/yum.repos.d/google.repo" containing the following:

[google]
name=Google - i386
baseurl=http://dl.google.com/linux/rpm/stable/i386
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub

Then as root:

yum install google-chrome-stable

This way you get updates instead of having to keep up with it manually.
