Before anyone following this thread has a new set of problems, and
unless GRUB has changed, the brackets go around the whole "hd0,0" thing,
not just the numbers.

i.e. root (hd0,0)

Or whatever drive and partition numbers are pertinent to your
configuration, instead of zeroes.
