Generally, you should do an upgrade of the current version to make
sure it is fully updated. Option only allow up to 2 versions from the
current version, So it you want to go more than 2, would need to do
it in 2 version steps. Then make sure to check for full updates
before next step.
The release upgrade will install the latest packages, so you don't need
to check for updates before going to the next release.
