I downloaded the bios update:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x260/downloads/driver-list/component?name=BIOS%2FUEFI&id=5AC6A815-321D-440E-8833-B07A93E0428C
I Downloaded the "BIOS Update (Bootable CD) iso image (~22MB) and used
MediaWriter to burn it to a USB stick.
The USB stick is not booting. (F12 at poweron to get boot device selection)
I checked the SHA256 sum they provide and what I downloaded and they
matched. GPARTed, though is not showing any recognized image, just that
the stick is an iso9660 file system.
What do I have to do to get this bootable? Or do I indeed need to burn
this to a CD (with my USB CD/DVD writer) then try booting that?
BTW, this is for my 6-cell battery. I am currently at BIOS v 1.19, back
'14 and the readme mentions some battery fixes a couple releases after mine.
thanks
