I got spooked listening to some music late one night, I could have sworn someone had crept up behind me. I hit pause, thought about it, rewound a bit. Sure enough, you could hear that someone had walked into the studio and talked, it was there faintly in the background. Until the modern "everything must shake the room" phenomena, subs were really only the purview of the deep pockets HiFi brigade. So I wonder how much studios monitored down that low? I'd expect them to check for mains hum, though. I never had a grounding problem in my edit suite until one year when I rearranged the layout. It'd been through a few changes, this was the first time it'd created a problem, though.
